How long has Craft-Zavichas been in business?
Since 1968. In fact, the Craft-Zavichas Golf School was there when only two others shared the stage. For over 35 years, we've been serious - and passionate - about teaching the game of golf..
What is a typical daily schedule at your school?
You'll have golf instruction in the morning, working on a rotation schedule that moves you throughout the long and short areas of golf. You'll rotate through the different practice facilities, working on all aspects of the game each lesson day. This not only prevents sore muscles, but allows for greater coverage of a variety of shot-making situations. We provide a balance between the time you spend at practice and on the course.
After lunch with your fellow students and instructors - where the talk of course is golf - you and your class play golf with your instructor where valuable information on how to play golf versus how to play golf swing is dispersed.
What is the student/ teacher ratio?
Our ratio is 1 instructor per 3 students. Our low student-ratio assures personalized instruction and coverage of the appropriate topics at the appropriate speed.
Do you have different instructors each day?
No. You'll be assigned the same instructor all week. This facilitates your learning by eliminating repetition, increasing student-instructor rapport, and allowing instruction to flow smoothly from one aspect of the game to another
What about your instructors?
Our best teachers are always there! Craft-Zavichas management does not hire unknown and uninterested people as last minute fill-ins. You deserve the best and get it. We simply love what we do too much to jeopardize your trust in us. Please see the credentials of our exceptional staff
Are there any age restrictions?
All ages are welcome to participate. While we welcome junior golfers, we would ask that they be monitored after class by parents or adult supervision. The youngest we suggest for focused instruction would be eight years old. Our oldest was 87! The average age is between 45-50
Do you provide any follow-up instruction after the school has been completed?
Yes we do. We care about your progress and future experience in golf and we know of possible frustrations you may encounter. You are free to e-mail, write or call us toll-free any time. We'll keep in touch with you via newsletters. We'll be there to lend support and enthusiasm for the game we all love.
What are some of the techniques you teach?
Self Correction: To improve in golf, the key rests in understanding and applying the fundamentals. We will help you recognize and correct your swing errors by providing you with a clear and positive understanding of golf fundamentals. You then become your own teacher.
2-Lever Motion: You will be taught how to create leverage and release of energy and the necessity of rotating your forearms to square the clubface. You will learn how to swing all of your clubs correctly, eliminating weak shots. Learn how to attain distance and control.
Creative Shots: Besides teaching you easy, creative escape methods out of sand and other trouble areas, we provide insight into your self management on the golf course to help you avoid those trouble areas in the first place
Take Home Drills: We provide you with a variety of drills to enhance your learning process. These drills will help you learn the foundation of the golf swing, so that when you play golf your thoughts will be free to focus on self management rather than worrying about swing mechanics.
What about cancellations?
All deposits and payments are refundable in full less a $50.00 administration fee If cancellation is received 14 days prior to school start date. Cancellation within 14 days prior to school start date results in forfeit of advance deposit.
What are your policies regarding rain?
If time is lost due to rain the program will be altered to make up time to extend later into the day or an earlier start the following morning. We will wait out a brief shower with time spent productively with lectures. If instruction is cancelled due to poor weather conditions, we'll credit the instruction portion to another school or the instruction portion will be translated into a monetary value and applied to another school session.
